"WOW, what a shitty deal. You run a blog and are getting a crap ton of hits from using "COY" And I KNEW HER from the internet, ALL TRUE FACTS! You're a peach."
Crap ton wouldn't be accurate, nor my motivation for writing, given this is my income.
I love when people accuse me of blogging about hot topics for money. Can anyone believe I've already made $3.55 this month? If I could find another hot topic right now and this keeps up, I could almost...almost... go to Starbuck's this afternoon.
What am I gonna do with all that money????? Oh, that's right, pay taxes on it first because they don't withhold, then I'm going to Disneyland!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm going to stand outside and look in unless any of you want to donate $500 to meet my kids in person! I'm kidding!

Yeah, no. You're being accused of using Coy for attention, not profit. It's obvious that this blog doesn't make money, no screenshots required. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd, while you're accepting comments (how brave of you!), I'm going to go ahead and mention that it's incredibly gross to find any sort of fault with a wheelchair van fundraiser. I mean...really? You'd think this wouldn't need to be said.
I think pimping your kid out to strangers on the internet to meet them for money is GROSS! But that's *just me*.
DeleteAnd I don't think I'm "Coy's" problem. His own mother is using the poor kid for attention. I think that's a much bigger fish to fry right there!
DeleteAnd I think you're just pissed because someone got something you want. Attention and a Van.
ReplyDeleteYou going to be okay? Wanna hug?
I have three vans right now. Literally. Three. UGH. But I'll take a hug.
DeleteGot to love "anonymouse" and no that isn't a typo. If you have something to say use your name or it loses all meaning. What a coward. Keep it real Michele.
ReplyDeleteHaters gonna hate.
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of when I wrote about MckMama, or the selective reduction mom, or the Indian surrogates. I hate to put on comment moderation, but it's the same person harassing me now, so I'm not publishing all her comments. This is MY platform, ya know. Haters gonna hate! Maybe it will be like last time and someone will start an ENTIRE BLOG just because they hate me!
DeleteI totally forgot to blog about the blog the lady started just because she hates me. Cuz *how dare I* express my opinion on the internet.
DeleteYeah, you should totally blog about that.
DeleteThen that lady could blog about you blogging about her blogging about
you.
Seriosly, some people need to get a life.
If I don't like a blog, I am just not going back there. Pretty easy, one would thing.
This is one of Kathryn's followers. When I blogged about her the other day, I had a feeling that her followers would come out of the woodwork because she's had a big following on the internet over the years.
DeleteAttacking me isn't going to change my opinion, though. I've had the same opinion on this woman for 5 years, as do MANY other people given the number of comments from people who "know" her from her online presence that have contributed to online news articles since this story broke.
I love the fact that you express your true opinions on this blog. Haters going to hate no matter what. I just wish there was a "like" button under that statement from Instant Student. :-)
DeleteYou really need to get on blogher. You'd make enough for ANOTHER van.
ReplyDeleteThe only reason I've never signed up for Blogher is because when I read their contract, it said they have the right to censor me. Is that true? I was like NO THANK YOU.
DeleteNow, granted, I'm not as brave as you, so it's not the kind of thing that I've ever had to worry about, but they don't have access to your blog. They can't change your posts or anything. Worst thing they can do is drop you.
DeleteWhat you call followers of Kathryn, others would call friends. Real friends who don't begrudge a mother doing what she can to get a van to transport her special needs child in safely. A child that has bones break from being moved improperly. A child who is in such pain every day that most medications will not touch it.
ReplyDeleteI'm a MoM. Mine had RSV at three months. One was hospitalized. The other was doing fine on oxygen and nebulizer treatments. I had a singleton with RSV who was treated at home. RSV does not always require being hospitalized.
Some of those writing comments of support actually know Kathryn and her family outside of the internet. Maybe they might know a bit more about her than you do.
Also, They did not do international interviews or even numerous interviews. Ones that were done were picked up by other media groups and then republished. So what may look like many interviews all over is in reality, on a very few.
Look, I don't even care about the van. I was like *eyeroll* about it. Good for them and whatever makes their child more comfortable. My issue is with her narcissism and exploitation of her children. If you are her friend, tell her that making her six year old child the "Rosa Parks" of trans activism might not be the best thing for her. All the other stuff just paints a general picture of how other people view their exploits in light of the newest issue. Other people are highly skeptical of the motives here and I include myself in "other people". And believe, *I'm not the only one*.
DeleteAlso, one more thing, if you are truly, truly her friend. Those "professionals" that are "handling" them? They don't care about her or her child. They care about making money and furthering their agenda. And equality is a noble cause, but is it noble for a six year old child to endure? You think my blog is bad? Wait until the Jesus people and Fox News rips her to shreds and crawls up her ass with a microscope. Those handlers don't care about Coy. They are making a movie to make money. They won't care what happens to Coy long term. When the documentary is over and they pack up and leave town, you know who will be there? YOU!
DeleteMy first question is if you're going to homebirth triplets (irresponsible in my view - but whatever, unless you've lost babies at birth, it's hard for others to understand)...anyway...my question is...if you're going to go to the trouble to homebirth them all and be soooo crunchy, why not homeschool, too? I guess you can't sue anyone and go on Katie Couric if you're homeschooling your "transgendered" kindergartener.
ReplyDeleteYou know what? Don't agree with homebirth (I don't) judge her for using Clomid, and go ahead and don't even buy that Coy is transgendered. After all, I'm sure your internet intuition is better than a team of people with medical degrees. It's okay, seriously. But to be nasty about Kathryn pulling out every stop to get Lily a van to improve her quality of life? That's really cruel. Your kids are one car accident away, one shock illness away, from being disabled. Never with hold compassion for something like that. It's disgusting, really.
ReplyDeleteLike I said, I don't care about the van. Really, I'm not Satan here. I don't agree with people from the internet paying to see children, but if they got the van, then good for them.
DeleteI have to jump in here and say that I don't believe anyway finds fundraising for a van to be bad parenting but offering play dates with your disabled child for a $500 donation is going to far. It's just gross.
ReplyDeleteExactly Sabina. I voted for Lily in a contest last year to win money toward the van and have done similar things for other disabled kids. There is a big difference between normal fundraising and offering playdates for a price. Just because I find everything Kathryn is doing with Coy to be exploitation and totally wrong doesn't mean I don't wish the best for Lily or any of the kids.
ReplyDeleteI want Lily to have everything she needs to make her comfortable. I also want Coy out of the spotlight and, quite frankly, go back to being a boy in public until COY is old enough to realize what it means to publically live as a transgendered individual. A 6 year old has no clue but Coy has certainly been given a crash course. Poor Coy looked so sad and uncomfortable with all the publicity on the Katie show. There was absolutely no reason to exploit Coy or Lily but that is what was done.
You know... You don't get to decide if you feel like a boy or a girl as a child because your a child. Then you don't get to decide if you are transgendered as a teen because hormones! Then you don't get to decide you are transgendered as an adult because why the hell didn't you say something earlier?!? See how this is a problem?
ReplyDeleteThey aren't doing gender reassingment surgery. If at 23 Coy decides she is a boy, ok... She can be a boy. Nothing has been done other than to validate her feelings as a PERSON. Gender is just the platform that gets that done.
Transgendered youth have some of THE highest suicide rates. In part because no one accepts them, and they have always felt othered in their own skin, and often times their own families.
Then why out her to the world?
