Try And Beat This One

I had only bought a couple things for Christmas for the kids until yesterday morning, when Greg and Uncle Mark took the kids to the park so I could do a little shopping. I found the coolest stuff at Tuesday Morning. I was especially excited to find a Hooked On Spanish set. It's normally over $40 and I got it for $9.99.

I've said it a million times before, but these kids need to learn Spanish. This looks like a really fun activity for us to do as a family, and maybe I'll pick some of the Spanish up that I learned in school and have since forgotten.

When I got home, Greg wanted to inspect the stuff I got so we wouldn't be buying the same gifts. I had a lot of crafting stuff for the girls, some nice wood puzzles, a really nice Dominoes set, some family math games, and Hooked On Spanish.

Greg looked at the Hooked On Spanish and said, "You don't really get kids, do you? Oh, WOW, Mommy. It's what I always wanted, Hooked On Spanish. GRACIAS!"

I have no idea what he's talking about. So what if he gave them a Lionel train set to go around the Christmas tree last night?

The engine even blows real smoke.

But mine comes with workbooks. I bet he can't beat that one!

  1. Hahahahahaha!!! Greg does seem like the "fun" one in the family, LOL. I'm the lame one who thinks preschool workbooks are fun for the kids. I also bought sweaters and jeans for the kids. I can't wait to see their excited expressions! "Ooh, mommy, CLOTHES!"

You've got me thinking... I need to relearn Spanish. I started in 2nd grade and went through to my second year in college. Can you believe that I remember barely any of it? Let's do the math - that's 13 years of Spanish.

  2. Thats too funny. That could definitely be me and Jim. Jim would be buying the fun toys and I'm getting the books!.

I love Tuesday Morning - isn't that a great store? I might have to swing by there today to see what else I can pick up.

I bet the boys LOVE the train set!

  5. I'm just catching up after a few days. About the sewing - have you bought any of those sewing cards for little girls? Thay have all sorts of "Learn to Sew" kits for little ones where the needle is really big and plastic and they sew with yarn. Check Hobby Lobby. They have neat craft kits for kids.

I think your kids will like ALL their gifts and by New Year they'll be able to tell you so in Spanish.

Does the Lionellight up in the dark,?? Or have lights? does it make train noises? Does it run on batteries? Or plug in? I want a train for our tree NEXT year. But I dont haveA CLUE as to which train to get or what kind? I just want it to be festive. How cute is a train going around a Christmas tree!!
